this is the third in the "small paintings" series following the release earlier this year of "he held my eyes" (february) and then "memory smears" (march).

"like two wings" was brought into being by memories triggered by a photograph sent to me by my dear friend erik emil eskildsen (denmark) as he walked to the shore of the danish sea on his way to pick up a cable for his pedalboard.

the "sea" was a magical place for me as a young child living in inner city manchester. there's something inexpressible about the space.
shorelines have a powerful hold on me also. particularly approaching them at night.

"like two wings" was created using Arturia Minifreak and Microfreak synthesizers.
i ran many of the signals from these two synths through Red Panda Tensor and Particle pedals, a TC Infinite pedal, a Zoom multiplex pedal. i also incorporated a koshi wind chime, tuned wine glasses and found objects and sounds. all of this was at some time or another, live-room recorded onto a Zoom H4N.
