"weaving with the rainspindle" is a collection of small moments and experiences. bird song, rain falling, the first breaths of my three children and more expressed through field recordings, prepared loops and live synth recordings . . . .

the field recordings were made on my front porch and then melded with layer upon layer of soundscapes . . . .

my own sense is that in the sum of the music is contained something of the quality of the beauty of these moments and also, something of the quality of what my friend Tobias Reber terms the "beaugliful": a quality, that in the instance of this music, hovers in that liminal space between beauty and the utterly raw and visceral.

"weaving with the rainspindle" was created using an Arturia Microfreak synthesizer, Red Panda Tensor and Particle pedals, pre-recorded loops on an Electro-Harmonix 74000, a TC Infinite pedal, a Zoom multiplex pedal, field recordings, found sounds, and was live-room recorded onto a Zoom H4N.
